Position Description.
Job Description This role is part of an Application Production Support (APS) team, providing IT production support for AS/400 activities.
The candidate will play a key role in incident management, handling service requests, infrastructure maintenance, and contributing to the continuous improvement of production environments.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
Main Tasks Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for applications, systems, and batch-related issues on AS/400 (primary) and Unix/Windows (secondary) environments Monitor production batches and infrastructure components Ensure timely resolution of batch-related issues Proactively escalate potential risks and critical matters to management Adhere to service level objectives and team roadmap Review and create application support documentation and knowledge articles Ensure production deliverables comply with internal standards and best practices Identify opportunities for automation to enhance system availability, productivity, and performance Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
Technical Skills AS/400 and Unix troubleshooting Strong SQL query and data analysis skills Familiarity with production support tools (e.
., ServiceNow, JIRA) is a plus Understanding of job scheduling systems Knowledge of ITIL best practices Experience with AS/400 technologies.
DB, CL/400, SQL/400, RPG & RPGLE, COBOL/400 Subsystems, job queues, logs, journals, and object management Basic knowledge of BRMS (backup and recovery) RPGLE and COBOL/400 development experience Qualification & Experience 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and application support 3+ years specifically supporting AS/400 technologies Language Skills English – Expert Soft Skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication Willingness to continuously update skills High persistence, proactiveness, and a strong “can-do attitude Skills.
