Technical Lead with GeoTools Expertise (NL) Location.
Brussels, Belgium Type.
Hybrid (Minimum 2 days per week in the office) Language Requirement.
Dutch (CEFR level C2) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with GeoTools expertise to manage and guide all technical aspects of geospatial and development projects.
This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust solutions using GeoTools, JTS, and other advanced geospatial tools.
You will lead technical design, oversee development efforts, and ensure high-quality delivery while mentoring and coaching team members.
Your ability to implement Agile methodologies will be key to driving successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities - Serve as the technical leader for geospatial projects, overseeing all technical aspects and ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Design and implement robust solutions using GeoTools, JTS, and Qgis for geospatial functionalities.
- Develop and maintain applications using Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, and Postgres/PostGis.
- Lead the development of RESTful services and integrate with various systems.
- Collaborate with teams to create technical designs and manage the design process.
- Mentor and coach technical designers and developers to enhance team performance.
- Ensure smooth execution of programming assignments, including coding, testing, and debugging.
- Drive Agile development methodologies within the team and lead Agile processes.
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications - 8+ years of experience in programming languages and development projects.
- 5+ years of experience as a designer and technical leader in development projects.
- 3+ years of experience with:- JPA/Hibernate - Spring Framework - RESTful service development.
- Experience with GeoTools, JTS, Qgis, and Postgres/PostGis.
- Proficiency in JavaScript (minimum 1 year).
Preferred Skills - Experience with Node/npm for front-end development.
- Proven ability to create technical designs and manage design processes.
- Strong experience in coding, testing, and debugging for seamless execution of programming tasks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Agile development methodologies with the ability to introduce and lead Agile processes in projects.
