The script should be capable of merging line-like objects around selected TEXT/MTEXT objects and extracting bounding area information.
Key Tasks.
- Platform independent solution, applying for 2D DWGs - Script should ask for an object (TEXT/MTEXT) and apply the report to all similar objects like the selected object - Merging line-like objects.
The script should be able to merge various line-like objects such as polylines, lines, arcs, circles, and other similar objects containing EACH selected TEXT/MTEXT objects, for each such input TEXT/MTEXT object create a new object at your convenience.
closed polylines, hash, region or any other area-aware object that is the smallest area around the input object delimited by other line-like objects in the document close to the source object and fully containing it.
The newly created areas should be all stored in a custom layer (name provided as default but can be changed from user option).
- Data extraction.
The script should extract the bounding area information for each selected objects, list them as pairs.
text/area value, one row for each input objects.
Summarise in the end the total area occupied by the newly created areas.
Ideal Skills and Experience.
- Proficient in Lisp scripting with AutoCAD.
- Experience in data extraction automation in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD's various line-like objects.
Sample explanation - object with text 35 has been selected, the expected output is to create a closed polyline from the closest objects bounding the TEXT labeled "35", as the purple polyline example - ouput in console/file.

The last line summarise all area values.
