FREELANCE SCIENCE WRITER FOR RESEARCH PAPERS

I'm looking freelance Science Writer with expertise in academic writing, publication processes, and research communication to assist in the preparation and submission of scientific manuscripts, research papers, and reports.
The role will focus on writing for scientific publication in areas such as cardiology, proteomics, and omics research.
The ideal candidate should have strong scientific writing skills and experience with the publication process, including working with researchers to develop clear and impactful manuscripts.
While a background in biology or life sciences is preferred, we encourage candidates with strong writing skills and a passion for scientific communication to apply.
This is a flexible, remote freelance role offering hourly compensation.
Key Responsibilities.
Write and edit scientific manuscripts, research papers, abstracts, and other publications related to cardiology, proteomics, and omics research.
Work closely with researchers and subject matter experts to understand the data and findings, translating complex scientific concepts into clear and engaging content.
Ensure that manuscripts meet high standards for scientific writing, clarity, structure, and adherence to journal guidelines.
Assist in the preparation of supplementary materials such as figures, tables, and appendices, ensuring accuracy and consistency with the main text.
Support the submission process, including manuscript formatting, preparation of cover letters, and compliance with submission requirements for journals.
Provide feedback on drafts to help improve clarity, coherence, and overall quality of the writing.
Stay up-to-date with best practices in scientific writing and publication standards across multiple disciplines.
Required Qualifications.
Strong scientific writing experience with a portfolio of published works (e.
., peer-reviewed papers, reports, or conference abstracts).
Familiarity with the structure and requirements of scientific manuscripts, especially in biological or life science-related fields.
Ability to distill complex scientific data into clear, readable text for a wide audience, including researchers and non-specialists.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot and correct grammatical, structural, and content-related issues.
Proficiency in using reference management tools (e.
., EndNote, Zotero) and manuscript formatting software.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with researchers and cross-functional teams.
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications.
Experience in writing for cardiology, proteomics, omics, or other related research fields.
Familiarity with scientific publishing platforms (e.
., PubMed, ResearchGate) and submission processes for high-impact journals.
Experience in writing grant proposals, reviews, or other types of scientific documents.
