Position Description.
US CITIZENSHIP AND ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED CGI Federal is currently looking for a Tech Writer/Document Manager with active Top-Secret clearance to support a large project for a federal government client.
The Tech Writer will have the opportunity to work in an agile environment, utilizing a variety of skills and languages in a fast-paced, cutting-edge setting where their input can enhance processes and team interactions.
This position can be based in Washington DC or Huntsville, AL.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
This position is located in Washington, DC.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures, user instruction, technical specifications, and/or API documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and business process re-engineering teams for accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Communicate complex financial or technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers - Document integration processes and procedures - Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology - Recommend improvements in standard processes, including document templates and communication with the technical team members Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
- Active Top-Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in software development, or related discipline -- 5-8 years of experience developing and maintaining technical documentation - Strong writing and editing skills in technical documentation - Ability to explain complex technical ideas in simple terms - Experience with documentation tools (e.
., Markdown, Confluence, Jira, etc.) - Experience with ELK stack, OpenSearch, SonarQube, Cypress, PowerShell, C#, and Databrick- Experience with Docker, SQL, Angular, Spring Boot, Nifi, AWS, python, scala, shell scripting, and XML processing • Experience in AWS solution architecture Please note that US Citizenship is required for this government contract position.
