POWER BI AND DATA ENGINEERING SPECIALIST

Position Description.
Are you a Power BI and Azure Data Engineering Specialist professional interested in working in a talented and collaborative team developing Cloud, Data and AI solutions for leading global clients? The ET (Emerging Technologies) team in Global Technology and Operations (GTO) Canada at CGI is a trusted Data, Cloud and Advanced Analytics advisor and go-to implementation partner for our global clients data needs.

In our endeavor to provide end-to-end Cloud and Machine Learning capabilities, we start with learning about the clients` business and data landscape, assess possible opportunities, help shortlist and turn those opportunities into action, and then scale it across the organization unlocking a larger impact for clients and their consumers.
For this, we depend on a talented and motivated team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Cloud DevOps professionals, Cloud Architects and other solutions experts.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
As a Power BI and Azure Developer/Data Engineering Specialist on this team your responsibilities will include.
- Strategically collaborating with the clients to explore data sources and build Power BI dashboards with Azure Data Engineering - Apply experience in building strong Power BI Dashboards with DAX queries, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Logic Apps - Delivering on areas of data preparation and transformations and ETL or ELT development on Azure - Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse et al - Building Data Engineering pipelines - Working in a business environment with large-scale, complex and big data datasets and dispersed data sources - Using SQL or Advanced SQL and Python skills as necessary - Gathering client requirements, coding and implementing data solutions - Supporting and collaborating with the other Data Engineers or Data Scientists in the team with technical knowledge Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
Essential Qualifications - Minimum total 5-7 years experience is required to apply to this role - 3 years or more in Power BI dashboards development - 3 years or more in Azure Data Engineering - Data analysis, storage, data pipelines, and orchestration - Expert Python and SQL skills - Experience working on at least one modern cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP etc.) preferably Azure - Experience working on Big Data - Strong Data Wrangling skills - Bachelors or Masters degree - Excellent communication and team working skills Nice to Have Qualifications - Experience in data engineering with ML projects - Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools eg.
Airflow, Jenkins etc.
- Experience in a variety of ETL tools like Azure Data Factory, Google Dataflow, Qlik Compose, AWS Data Pipeline or Glue, Talend, Microsoft SSIS, IBM Datastage, Informatica Use of the term ‘engineering’ in this job posting refers to the technical sense related to Information Technology (IT) and does not imply that the individual practices engineering or possesses the requisite license as prescribed by the applicable provincial or territorial engineering regulator.
We are seeking individuals with expertise in IT engineering-related functions, but licensure from an engineering regulator is not a prerequisite for this position.
Engineering is a regulated profession in Canada which is restricted in terms of use of titles and designation.
