The Overnight Security/Valet Attendant provides porter and valet services to hotel guests and ensures their satisfaction and comfort by promptly and courteously responding to guest requests The Overnight Security/Valet is responsible for searching for, responding to and handling any security problems, issues, concerns and disaster emergency situations in accordance with all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure the safety and security of the hotel's assets, guests, and employees.
pecific Responsibilities.
atrol all areas of the hotel property including outside parking area.
Note, search for, handle and report any unusual circumstances, safety violations, car theft, destruction and/or suspicious or undesirable persons and escort off property, if necessary.
ocument a concise security report on a daily log including incidents of theft, accidents and safety violations, including issues relating to Housekeeping and Engineering.
reets and assists arriving guests with help unloading luggage from vehicle and transporting to their room, personally carrying the luggage or using a luggage cart.
Valets offer to park guest's vehicle and give claim ticket.
ssists departing guests by transporting luggage from room to lobby, and helping the guest load luggage into vehicle.
Valets retrieve vehicle and assist guest with departure.
esponds to guest needs by promptly delivering laundry, newspapers, iron & ironing board, additional linens, etc., in person.
aintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times not with just with guests and teammates, but also with passersby whose first impression of the hotel will be the people standing outside.
nforces the 'No Solicitation Policy' of the hotel while respecting the open door policy of the museum.
alk through the property and logs any issues relating to Engineering and Housekeeping.
scorts and witnesses cash handling as needed.
ses portable radio, telephone, computer, copier.
ttends quarterly Night Shift meeting with Night Manager/Auditor/Rooms Manager/General Manager.
ualificationsMust be able to drive vehicles with manual (stick shift) and automatic transmissions.
ust be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
ood communication skills, ability to recognize drug and alcohol abuse.
bility to communicate through a portable radio.
xcellent hearing and speech required to communicate with guests, employees, managers, use radio.
xcellent vision required for emergencies, visual safety inspections.
xcellent comprehension and literacy required to complete reports, logs.
ust pass a background check.
hysical requirements.
ifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying may be necessary to carry people or equipment in emergency situation.
obility - would be necessary 100% of the time in responding to emergencies and patrolling the building.
ould not be standing in one place for any extended length of time.
ses stairs in responding to fire alarms - no elevators.
ork inside 85% of 8 hours; outside 15% of 8 hours.
xperience:.
ust have at least three years driving experience with a clean driving record.
ducation.
igh school education or equivalent experience.
