Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > Converter Control Application Our Converter Control Application team is essential in securing Vestas' position as a global leader in sustainable energy.
We develop and implement converter control functionalities across all Vestas turbine families.
We're a collaborative, diverse, and highly skilled team, balancing creativity with technical excellence to develop leading converter solutions.
Responsibilities Guide and oversee the development and implementation of Grid-Forming (GFM) Control Technology Define converter requirements and oversee control software development, testing, and validation Contribute to the improvement and updates of existing converter control software based on real-world turbine feedback and customer requirements Be responsible for technical tasks and solutions in cross-functional projects Collaborate with internal teams to promote innovation and continuous improvement in converter control Qualifications Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field coupled with 8+ years of experience in power converter development, control design, and implementation Deep understanding of Grid-Forming Control and power converter control strategies Solid knowledge of dynamic system modelling, controller design, and verification through simulations and tests Practical experience with control of power electronics, PWM strategies, and industrial software development Familiarity with grid connection of converters and compliance with international grid codes Embedded control development for power electronics Competencies Autonomous and initiative-based approach to learning and problem-solving Solid analytical and debugging abilities Ability to guide and mentor team members while ensuring high-quality technical deliverables Efficient communication and collaboration skills across teams What we offer Join a committed and inclusive team contributing to renewable energy innovation, where your ideas and abilities will define and shape the future of sustainable power solutions.
