RESEARCH GRANT FOR M.SC. STUDENTS ON ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

Summary There is an open call for one (1) Research Scholarship (“Bolsa de Investigação”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the Project Joint-Lab-RD6.
Work Objectives Execution of a set of tasks related to the simulation and laboratory characterization of electronic circuits designed to improve the performance of amplifier circuits that constitute wireless transmitters dedicated to applications related to cellular networks.
The performance improvement considers the reduction of transmitter distortion and the increase of their energy efficiency.
Place of Work The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof.
Telmo Reis Cunha.
Duration 6 months, with the possibility of renewal.
Start date.
October or soon thereafter.
Monthly Salary € according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.
ct.
t/apoios/bolsas/valores).
The payment will be made by bank transfer.
Admission Requirements Research grants are intended.
- for students enrolled in a degree-conferring course to carry out R&D activities with the aim to consolidate their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the attainment of the respective academic degree or completion of the course (integrated or not in R&D projects).
- for students enrolled in courses that do not confer an academic degree, but which are integrated in an educational project of a higher education institution and are developed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units.
Candidates must be enrolled in a master's, integrated master's, or be enrolled in a non-conferring academic degree course in the areas of Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent.
Knowledge of electronic circuits for Radio Frequency amplifiers, and good laboratory practices in electronics.
Solid knowledge of laboratory measurements and electronic circuit simulation techniques for operation with high frequency signals (knowledge of the electromagnetic behavior of electronic circuits and transmission lines).
