We are seeking a confident, passionate, and professional Healthcare Professional to fill the role of PULMONARY FUNCTION TECHNOLOGIST for a full-time position in Grande Prairie, AB. In the position of PULMONARY FUNCTION TECHNOLOGIST reporting to the Director of Operations, or their designate, you will be expected to work daily with clinical and administrative team members to ensure that Aveiro Sleep is delivering the highest level of clinical care and support to current and prospective patients. Our patients are at the center of everything we do. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive Pulmonary Function Testing, including Spirometry, Lung Volumes, and Diffusion Capacity. Ensure accuracy and reliability by performing valid calibrations and verifications of diagnostic equipment. Maintain high standards in quality assurance through effective coaching, thorough charting, and appropriate documentation of test results. Demonstrate the ability to identify and respond to critical values promptly and accurately. Document patient data in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, including vitals, symptoms, medical history, and any other relevant information. Prepare, initialize, and maintain diagnostic devices for Level 3 sleep studies, including downloading data post-study and ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of the equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with technical support to maintain functionality of diagnostic devices. Educate patients on the process and importance of Level 3 sleep studies, providing clear instructions for at-home use. Assist patients with completing necessary forms, including questionnaires, insurance documentation, and customer agreements, ensuring accurate transfer of information to the EMR. Initiate patients on Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy, providing education on both the therapy and sleep apnea, and conduct follow-up as needed. Perform precise mask fittings for patients requiring CPAP therapy, ensuring comfort and effectiveness. Manage certain administrative duties, including discussing test results, making follow-up care calls, and coordinating with insurance companies regarding coverage. Additional Responsibilities: Foster effective communication and collaboration with Respiratory Therapists, Sleep Technologists, Clinical Assistants, Physicians, administrative staff, and management teams. Contribute to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for both staff and patients.Requirements: An RRT and registered with the College & Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA) and Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) OR A CACPT and registered with the Canadian Association of Cardio-Pulmonary Technologists (CACPT). A valid Heart and Stroke BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Capable of handling multiple tasks and working effectively under pressure. Assets (Not Required): • Experience in Pulmonary Function Testing and/or Sleep Therapy is considered advantageous. First Aid and WHMIS certifications are beneficial. Previous experience with EMR systems is a plus.
