DATA ARCHITECT - GCP

Position Description.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Cloud Data Architect to lead the development of new products, capabilities, and standardized practices using Cloud and Data technologies.
Working closely with our business partners, this person will be part of a team that advocates the use of advanced Data technologies to solve business problems, deliver modern solutions and be a thought-partner in Data and Cloud space while building close relationships with both client and CGI team members.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
• Build, own and run data engineering pipelines, workflows and standardized practices for delivering new products and capabilities using Data and Cloud technologies, including data transformation, processing and analysis.
• Participate in all aspects of Data solution delivery life cycle using both on-prem data technologies and public cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) • Ensure Big Data practices integrate into overall data architectures and data management principles (e.
.
data governance, data security, metadata, data quality) • Design, deployment, and management of secure and compliant enterprise infrastructure and cloud architectures using Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Deliver against the strategic roadmap for cloud analytics architecture.
• Facilitate discovery workshops, articulate the value proposition, build solution architecture with an associated roadmap, and communicate business value to clients.
• Establish best practices and consistency across various Data on Cloud solutions.
Design and build highly reusable and scalable cloud-native data and AI ecosystems.
• Assist in the development of comprehensive and strategic business cases used at management and executive levels for funding and scoping decisions on Big Data solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues within the Hadoop environment and Cloud.
• Perform optimization and tuning of data workflow processes and applications.
• Love solving complex problems, be up-to-date on the latest technology trends and have a strong desire to learn constantly.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering Management Information Systems, or Computer Information Systems is required.
• 10+ Years’ Experience – at least 4 years in a Cloud Solution and Data Architecture role • Minimum 5 years' experience in developing data pipelines and workflows in GCP data platforms, services and applications (Pub/Sub, Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc BQ, Airflow, Composer) • Minimum 5 years of CI/CD deployment, code management platform GitHub, building and coding applications using Hadoop components - HDFS, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, StreamSets, HBase, etc.
• Proven experience in coding Scala / Spark, Spark Streaming, Java, Python, HiveQL.
• Experience in traditional ETL tools & Data Warehousing architecture.
• Experience of working on AI-ML, Gen AI and Cloud data migration projects • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with comprehensive, practical experience and knowledge in end-to-end delivery of Big Data solutions.
• Must be proficient in SQL/HiveQL and programming language (Java/Python) Preferred Qualifications.
• Bilingual (English & French) would be a huge asset.
• Deep understanding of techniques used in creating and serving schemas at the time of data consumption • Advanced Cloud data technologies in ML space (Vertex AI, BQ-ML etc) • Experience in AWS/Azure data platforms • Experience in data visualization tools such as Google Looker, Microstrategy • Past experience using Maven, Git, Jenkins, Se, Ansible or other CI tools preferred • Experience in Exadata and other RDBMS preferred.
• Knowledge of predictive analytics techniques (e.

predictive modeling, statistical programming, machine learning, analytics, data visualization).
• Experience of working on pre-sales cycles for data, analytics, AI-ML solutions including but not limited to leading Request for Proposal (RFP) for projects, preparing and presenting client presentations and demos of CGI solutions, sizing opportunities etc.
