Summary This announcement was approved by the selection panel on and was published on Work Objectives We are looking for a motivated and experienced Postdoc or Scientist for a full-time position, to carry out high-quality research and development in radio systems.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of high-impact publications in reputable journals and conferences, international recognition of its activities, as well as experience as a principal researcher in securing and leading competitive funding projects and super-vising students.
The candidate will integrate a dynamic and forward-thinking team composed of senior scientists, researchers, and students.
He/she is expected to bring his/her own research ideas and skills to tackle ongoing R&D challenges, in close collaboration with our interdisciplinary team and with external scientific and industrial partners.
Amongst his/her responsibilities, he/she will be expected to.
• Conduct advanced research in radio systems, focusing on innovative solutions and emerging technologies.
• Lead and manage research projects, ensuring timely delivery of objectives and milestones.
• Secure competitive research funding by developing and submitting high-quality grant proposals.
• Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at leading international conferences.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners, academic institutions, and research organizations.
• Mentor and supervise junior researchers and graduate students.
IT’s Radio Systems research group at Aveiro has a wide set of internationally funded projects and publishes in high quality scientific journals and high-quality conferences in Radio Systems, Microwave and Terahertz Theory and Technologies, Antennas and Propagation and is seeking a researcher that can work for this goal, apply for competitive funding in the framework of projects or contracts, and support our PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
Place of Work The workplace is located at the Institute of Telecommunications, Aveiro Pole, University Campus of Santiago, Aveiro.

Admission Requirements You hold a PhD and proven experience in radio systems design, measurement, characterization and test, from baseband to radio frequency for different scenarios, namely communications, sensing and power transfer.
You have a profound knowledge on, at least two, of the following areas.
• Radio systems for next-generation communications, from Megahertz to Terahertz bands, including radio-frequency electronics (analogue and digital), high performance software defined radio, very high sampling rate data converters and high throughput signal processing.
• Electromagnetic radiation and waveform propagation, advanced antenna systems, including multi-function arrays and Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces.
• High-efficiency wireless power transmission and energy harvesting solutions, covering a broad range of distances, power levels, and operating frequencies, including non-linear system characterization.
You have a mandatory advanced knowledge of RF measurements and state-of-the-art lab equipment, proficient use of anechoic chambers, covering Megahertz to Terahertz bands, including automation of the measurements.
You have a good track record of publications of applied research in international high-impact journals and conferences with peer review in Radio Systems, Circuits and Systems, Antennas and Propagation, Micro-wave and Terahertz technologies.
Experience in projects on the above areas with active participation in the preparation of proposals, and ap-plication for research funding opportunities is a plus.
Experience with undergraduate and graduate student supervision is also valued.
You have a proficient level of comprehension, written and oral skills in English.
You have experience and value working in an international and multi-cultural environment.
Your current track record of scientific publications, and or project involvement, and student supervision complies with the Productivity Criteria in force at Instituto de Telecomunicações, verifiable from your provided CV.
