BUSINESS ARCHITECT – DIGITAL AND ECOMMERCE

Position Description.
CGI Montreal is looking for a Business Architect – Digital and eCommerce to support our clients in their digital transformation journey.
This strategic role bridges business needs and technological solutions, ensuring alignment between digital initiatives and organizational priorities.
The Business Architect acts as a change agent, supporting stakeholders in defining business needs, modeling processes and capabilities, and planning high-impact, integrated solutions.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and formalize business needs related to digital and eCommerce platforms.
• Define, model, and recommend the business capabilities required for digital transformation (e.
., portals, customer experience, payment services, omnichannel operations).
• Develop capability roadmaps and align digital initiatives with the enterprise strategy.
• Work closely with solution architects to ensure business-technology alignment and solution coherence.
• Conduct impact analyses of projects on business processes, business rules, data flows, and organizational roles.
• Use enterprise modeling tools (e.
., BIZZDesign, Archimate) to document business capabilities, processes, and strategies.
• Participate in the governance of transformation initiatives and contribute to prioritization decisions.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, innovation in customer journeys, and improved digital experience.
• Stay current with trends in eCommerce, digital platforms, customer experience, and emerging technologies.
• Support business case development for capability evolution and value creation.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• Proven experience in business architecture within digital and/or eCommerce transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager, Magento, Manhattan, or SAP from a business capabilities and process perspective.
• Solid knowledge of payment service integration, user experience, and omnichannel strategy.
• Skilled in modeling business processes, capabilities, and information flows using tools such as Archimate and BIZZDesign.
• Familiarity with modern technological environments.
cloud, APIs, microservices (a plus).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with both business and IT stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset focused on business value, customer experience, and organizational transformation.
Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role involving interactions with both national and international clients #LI-NO1 Use of the term ‘architect’ in this job posting refers to the technical sense related to Information Technology (IT) and does not imply that the individual practices architecture or possesses the requisite license as prescribed by the applicable provincial or territorial architect regulator.
We are seeking individuals with expertise in IT architect-related functions, but licensure from an architect regulator is not a prerequisite for this position.
Architecture is a regulated profession in Canada which is restricted in terms of use of titles and designation.
