Code 1 I want you to code an exploration that finds all stocks that have not closed below the 20 day simple moving average over the past 4 weeks.
Make the number of weeks easily alterable in case I want to change it to another time period later.
In the results page, add a column for percentage price change in the last month (green if positive, red if negative), a column for the stocks’ sector and a column for the stocks’ industry.
I have access to a Norgate data subscription.
Code 2 Code an exploration that finds stocks which have had their highest volume in over a year in either the DAILY or WEEKLY time frames (user customisable which timeframe is explored).
In the day or weekly time period that the stock had its largest volume in over a year, the stock must also close in the top 52% of the daily or weekly trading range.
Ie if the stock opened at $100 and closed at $200, the stock must close above $148.
In the results page, add a column for the stocks’ sector and a column for the stocks’ industry.
Code 3 Code an exploration that finds stocks that show relative price strength relative to all other stocks being explored in the desired time frame.
Have the exploration user customisable to give results in the 1 month or 3 month or 6 month time frame, or as a combined 1+3+6 month time frame.
To calculate relative price strength, divide the current closing price of the stock by the closing price 1/3/6 months ago.
Rank the stocks by this figure.
Filter for and only show the top 5% of figures (user customisable in case I want to change 5% to some other % in the future).
In the results show and rank by % gain in price over that time period and add a column for the stocks’ sector and a column for the stocks’ industry.
This is all that is needed for the individual 1 or 3 or 6 month scans.
For the combined 1+3+6 month scans, calculate a score.
= 2*(closing price/closing price 1 month ago)+(closing price/closing price 3 months ago)+(closing price/closing price 6 months ago) In the results rank by score.
Add a column for % gain in price over the last 1 month, a column for % gain in price over the last 3 months, and a column for % gain in price over the last 6 months.
