Position.
Waiter Department.
Front of House Reports to.
Operations Manager, Floor Manager Responsibilities ● Welcome guests to their tables and provide exceptional services that increase customer satisfaction.
● Present menus and provide detailed information about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies.
● Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS ordering software and up-sell additional products when appropriate.
● Inform customers about the day’s specials and offer menu recommendations.
● Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
● Deliver orders of food and drinks to guests and top up water, wine, and drinks.
● Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems.
● Arrange tables set-up and maintain a tidy dining area.
● Deliver checks and collect bill payments.
● Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to the dishwashing station for cleaning.
● Complete pre-service side work, such as polishing cutlery and folding napkins.
● Report to the manager and the appropriate team member regarding dishes/drinks that are late or not up to the standard.
● Follow all relevant health department regulations and always adhere to the standards for the order of service.
● Direct table timing and assist with cleaning breakages and any spillage in the restaurant as they occur.
● Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes in the menu, and service specifications for reservations (e.
., parties, big groups).
● Speak to the manager/kitchen regarding orders/dishes for guests with allergies and communicate with the manager regarding any issues with guests.
● Ensure seamless service and special attention to all guests.
● Provide excellent customer service by doing constant follow-up of the service, orders, and guests' satisfaction and by creating a welcoming atmosphere.
● Always be ready and willing to assist the team and guests when needed.
● Assist with optimizing restaurant capacity, including controlling table and service timing ● Anticipate the needs and preferences of Mona Verde's guests to provide personalized and exceptional service.
● Ability to recognize regular guests, VIPs and partners.
● Adhere to strict hygiene procedures and food & beverage/health & safety regulations ● Build positive relationships with staff and customers ● Contribute to creating a relaxing environment that reinforces Mona Verde's identity and builds consistency, trust and credibility.
● Follow all service steps accordingly to the training manual, brand guidelines, protocols, and customer service excellence standards from the beginning to the end of the customer experience.
● Adhere to company protocols and comply with daily checklists Qualifications ● Proven work experience as a Waiter/Waitress in 5* Hotels, Restaurants, or similar Rooftop bars.
● Strong proficiency in English and Portuguese.
Additional language is a plus.
● Practical familiarity with cash register and point-of-sale (POS) software.
● Basic math skills ● High school diploma and food safety training are a plus.
● Able to work in a fast-paced environment, to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently ● Responsible, punctual, with excellent presentation skills and great attention to detail ● Works well as part of a team, positive and approachable manner ● Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
