VDI ADMINISTRATOR

Position Description.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive VDI Administrator to join our IT team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments to ensure seamless user experiences and operational efficiency.
This role involves working with advanced VDI technologies to support the organization's digital workspace strategy.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
• Manage and maintain VDI environments, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting virtual desktops.
• Perform daily administration tasks to ensure system stability, performance, and availability.
• Implement updates, patches, and upgrades in VDI solutions such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or other VDI platforms.
• Monitor system performance and usage metrics, identifying and resolving potential bottlenecks or issues.
• Configure and optimize VDI settings to meet business needs and user requirements.
• Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure VDI environments meet security and compliance standards.
• Provide support to end-users experiencing issues with virtual desktops, applications, or connections.
• Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps to enhance team knowledge and system transparency.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing for VDI environments.
• Work closely with other IT teams to ensure integration and compatibility with network and server infrastructure.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• Proven experience managing VDI solutions such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies, including hypervisors like VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving VDI-related issues.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.
., PowerShell) for system management.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, group policies, and user profile management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V) are a plus.
