TECHNO-ECONOMIC ANALYST

HyLabs final goal is to create a worldwide reference Research Development and Innovation (R&DI) cluster with a strategic agenda focused on strengthening hydrogen competitiveness and creation of new products and services.
Moreover the HyLab will foster innovation addressing the relevant supply chain components to enable a hydrogendriven economy and to promote skilled and valueadded job creation.
It targets a gap between the academia and industrial ecosystems in the implementation of green hydrogen to boost the energy transition and to tackle the energy transition challenges through the entire hydrogen value chain.
The HyLab involves valuable national and international R&D institutes academia industry companies small and mediumsized enterprises (SMEs) startups and hydrogenrelated technology manufacturing industries.
We are looking for a TechnoEconomic Analyst for the development of industrial processes and associated infrastructure who will report to the Lead Research on the Sustainable Hydrogen Economy and will have the mission to elaborate the TechnoEconomic Analysis of selected segments of the Portuguese Green Hydrogen industrial infrastructure along its Life Cycle.
The analysis can embrace hydrogen production transport compression and storage and selected scenarios of Hydrogen EndUse.
The work will include technical analysis and simulation of the processes involved assessment of CAPEX and OPEX profitability analysis and costbenefit analysis under different specific scenarios of the Portuguese green hydrogen value chain.
You will be challenged with.
Participating in R&D projects related to green hydrogen production transport compression and storage and selected hydrogen enduse scenarios to collect data and process input parameters for the development of technoeconomic analysis.
Building a database of the expected costs associated with the development of an industrial green hydrogen infrastructure over its life cycle.
Collaborate with life cycle assessment practitioners to develop a harmonized inventory database.
Development of technical models of selected plants and infrastructure (Aspen Plus/Aspen Energy) to determine capital and operating costs.
Development of economic analysis to calculate NPV DCFRR ROI EROI payback period under different scenarios.
Costbenefit analysis by using advanced tools such as MatLab/Econometric.
Preparation of project reports and support in the preparation of scientific proposals (national international and European projects).
Participation in the dissemination activities of the generated scientific knowledge (writing of scientific articles conference papers presentations) participation in the supervision of Master/PhD students.
Who are we looking for.
PhD/masters degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or related fields.
Experience in industrial and or infrastructural projects design and associated technoeconomic analysis.
Knowledge of Aspen Plus Aspen Energy Analyzer and industrial processes modeling.
Knowledge of MATLAB/ Econometric tool (optional).
Proficiency level in English C1.
