TALEND DEVELOPER

Position Description.
We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 40 years, we're still growing! Join Canada's largest IT Company as an ETL Developer (Talend), in our Financial Services Sector in Toronto.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
• Provide technical leadership to other Talend developers both onshore and offshore • Design, develop, and implement ETL workflows using Talend to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business rules, and load it into target systems • Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and data quality • Provide Application Support, Testing & Deployment including but not limited to.
• Participate in IST regression testing on projects, as required • Support business partners with testing in UAT.
Maintain and track PLOGs, as needed • Prepare test cases and test scripts and assist in creating and retrieving required test data.
• Provide Release Management support and facilitation, ensuring all releases are delivered efficiently and without defect.
Act as a liaison with other departments to create the release checklist, as required.
• Provide overnight and weekend support for project implementations and releases.
Pager support may be required.
• Assist in creating internal operation support manuals and other documentation.
Create support strategies and assist in post implementation shakedown testing, as required.
• Meet the SLA for incidents and project timelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues promptly • Implement data quality checks and ensure data accuracy throughout the ETL pipeline • Maintain a good understanding of the Division's business strategies, business policies, financial instruments, risk management and back-office processing.
• Identify and communicate any impediments with practical solutions to Sr.
management, downstream systems/processes.
• Being Proactive vs Reactive • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders like product owner, business lines and QA team to gather requirements and translate them into efficient data integration solutions.
• Work with already established ETL team, adapt to team culture and dynamic.
• Willing to adopt, practice agile, Kanban and scrum principles.
Utilize Kanban board to manage workflow • Engage, inspire, and cultivate high performing team culture.
• Collaborate with team members in-person and virtually from different regions in Canada and India.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• 5+ years’ IT industry experience (with Talend) • Hands-on experience with development using one or more tool and technologies like SQL, Python, Java.
Hadoop, Hive, Spark and/or google cloud is a plus.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL best practices • Experience with data sourcing, ETL and data integration.
• Relevant certifications in Talend (preferred) • Hands on experience with MS Office Suite i.
., MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams and Project • Understanding of Database environment (i.
., relational, structural, etc.) such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL Nice to Have.
• Exposure to wealth products • Wealth/financial industry exposure • Code versioning tool like Arcade, Bitbucket and DevOps pipeline.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and Service Now • Familiarity with Agile, Kanban methodology and Continuous Improvement mindset Education.
• University / College level degree program in IT and/or business.
