SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Position Description.
CGI Federal is actively seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team.
As a Systems Engineering, you will be contribute to the design, development, testing, and implementation of a large-scale project utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Java, Angular, and other modern, cloud-native technologies.
You will work closely with other engineers, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
Contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and operations of complex systems and applications on the Google Cloud platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, architects, and project managers, to define project requirements and deliverables.
Ensure that all engineering activities align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.
Identify project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and corrective actions as needed, and escalating where necessary Able to document policy and procedures.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field 8-10 years’ experience as a Systems Engineer, preferably within a large and complex project environment.
Strong expertise in GCP and Java technologies.
Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and deploying large-scale systems and applications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies is highly desirable.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required.
Master's degree is in a relevant field.
Certifications in GCP CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications.
To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role.
