SR. GCP DEVELOPER

Position Description.
This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office 2-3 times per week - subject to change at any time.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable platforming using GCP & PySpark • Stakeholder Management • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of data engineers, ensuring high-quality code, performance optimization, and best practices.
• Architect large-scale data solutions and establish design patterns for data workflows and cloud based platforms.
• Optimize Spark jobs for performance, scalability, and efficient use of resources, tuning Spark configurations, and managing cluster environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, business analysts, DevOps) to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Oversee the development of data processing solutions that integrate multiple sources, including databases, APIs, cloud storage, and external systems.
• Drive technical decision-making and help define the technical roadmap for data engineering projects.
• Ensure robust data governance by implementing strategies for data quality, security, compliance, and auditing.
• Work with cloud platforms (GCP) to implement scalable data solutions using cloud-native services.
• Support production workloads, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve system reliability and data throughput.
• Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices in software development.
