About the Client

A fast growing fintech company, Propellant.Digital provides cloud based SaaS data and analytics solutions to clients active in global financial markets. Our clients include investment banks, asset managers, proprietary trading firms, financial regulators, trading venues. With 20 clients already live, including top-tier global banks, we aim to grow our client base rapidly in 2025 and are therefore looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team.

Our Approach:

We deeply understand business needs, take ownership of challenges, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
We follow Scrum methodology, with sprints lasting 2/3 weeks
Our tech stack includes Python, Java, and Terraform.
Our product is built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with BigQuery as a key component.
We operate in a serverless environment, though future products may differ.
We release software frequently, at sprint end or as needed.
Automation is a core focus—we streamline processes wherever possible.
Security is paramount; we are ISO 27001 certified.
We prioritize long-term thinking and high-quality software development.

On a daily basis you will:

Contribute to a rapidly growing fintech company and help shape its technology solutions.
Understand Propellant’s business needs and translate high-level objectives into well-architected, scalable solutions using the best of GCP.
Build robust, secure, and reliable systems, ensuring practical workarounds are in place to maintain service continuity in case of failures.
Plan and execute well-structured releases with minimal disruption and clear rollback strategies.


Must-Have:

A minimum of 1 year of experience in Java and/or Python, along with proficiency in databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
Experience with cloud and serverless architectures; familiarity with GCP is a plus.
You have an ownership mindset and a natural curiosity—you seek to fully understand and take responsibility for both the problem and the solution.
Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science or relevant field.


Nice-to-Have:

Knowledge of financial markets
Experience in data engineering, working with large-scale datasets.
Familiarity with FIX protocol and/or exchange connectivity.
Proven ability to own and evolve technology stacks, guiding them through changes and improvements.
You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders and can effectively collaborate to gather requirements, set priorities, and gain clarity.
