SENIOR TESTER

Position Description.
Job Role.
• Review and analyze system specifications • Responsible for writing test cases, executing them and maintaining the relevant logs • Analyzes test results to ensure functionality is implemented correctly and highlights them in case it is not so • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle • Should be able to understand the requirements and design aspects and design optimal tests.
• Should be able to play the role of a Test Lead in system testing/E2E projects supporting Technical Test Manager • Should be able to perform API testing using Rest clients and automation.
• Should have test automation skillsets so that the person can identify test automation opportunities • Should be able to create Automation scripts using defined / new framework and design guidelines • Should be able to contribute to framework level changes as applicable • Good to have Devops skillsets • Executes Automated Tests and collates evidence for Test automation progress reporting and tracking • Document, report, and track software defects using Azure Test Plans, ALM and JIRA • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle • Forms validation for contents and correctness • Identify and prepare technical/functional test data • Execute testing cycle activities as defined in test plan • Identify, log, and follow-up on all defects encountered • Execute automation scripts • Should create proper documentation as needed for the scripts • Collaborate with the other test leads to prepare and produce test result reports.
• Work seamlessly with geographically distributed teams.
• Work with the scrum master and help establish sprint activities and tasks.
• Participate in the daily standup and provide status updates, contribute to team meetings.
• Collaborate with the other test leads in defect triage meetings.
Required skillset.
• Must have at least 5 years of well-rounded testing experience with Functional, Smoke, Regression, API and Integration Testing • P&C Insurance knowledge • Must have knowledge about APIs (REST) and its automation using RestAssured or HttpClient • Must have hands on experience with API testing tools like SOAPUI, Postman Etc • Strong Java programming skills, web automation skills on tool Selenium, Selenium Grid • Working knowledge of developing, maintaining, and executing functional test scenarios and test cases • Web UI manual testing – functional and regression • Test plan preparation, test data setup, test execution, and defect reporting • Defect Management – Azure Test plans, ALM, JIRA • Must have logical, analytical & problem-solving skills • Web UI testing using Selenium - Good to know • Able to multitask and work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Should be a quick learner and be able to adapt to the new technologies/tools.
• Ability to work with Business Analysts to ensure full coverage of business requirements and the ability to provide estimates on test execution.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines for deliverables.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision or guidance.
• Knowledge of the test planning and test management domains • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication including documentation and interpersonal skills • Team player with ability to work in a rapidly changing environment utilizing good time management and prioritization skills, while maintaining high quality and being flexible to customer needs and timelines • Self-motivated performer with a desire to work on a project team, learning and testing software features Skills.
