SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER FOR API MANAGEMENT PLATFORM (M/F/D) MI-DA

Your Role This is your opportunity to design and develop APIs together with or commissioned by different IT product teams – sometimes starting from scratch, sometimes redesigning existing interfaces, and also supporting product teams across the entire API lifecycle, from use case selection over contract negotiation, design up to implementation based on best practices and guidelines.

Read on! Your Responsibilities Design and develop APIs together with or commissioned by different IT product teams – sometimes starting from scratch or redesigning existing interfaces.
Responsible for caring about the needs of API consumers and providers while promoting overarching security and compliance goals within the developer community.
Deliver solutions compliant with our internal API Guidelines while also ensuring a healthy feedback loop exists between development and governance stakeholders.
Identify platform requirements based on the needs of the API providers and consumers and consult the providing and consuming developers to work with the new API Management Platform.
Deliver solutions that are compliant with our internal API Guidelines while also ensuring a healthy feedback loop between development and governance stakeholders.
Support product teams across the entire API life cycle, from use case selection over contract negotiation and design to implementation, based on best practices and guidelines to ensure proper use of the API Platform.
Your Skills and Experiences You are confident in at least one major programming language and not afraid of working in a polyglot application landscape (Java experience preferred).
Around 4 years of experience in a similar role.
You have ample experience with designing and developing RESTful APIs and either connecting or implementing the necessary backend services.
You naturally apply software craftsmanship principles like Test Driven Development or Clean Code, in your daily work.
You have good communication skills to interact, refine, negotiate, and guide product teams to implement APIs with the best quality.
