SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL (M/F)

- Draft a wide variety of legal documents, agreements, memoranda of understanding, etc., as required by the Company; - Support the Company’s Procurement Department, in particular, prior and during the tender processes, including adopting the Company’s standards in the relevant scope of work; - Support the Company’s Procurement Department during the negotiations meetings, internal meetings and alignment with bidders; - Support in confidentiality and intellectual property matters; - Provide advice on corporate legal issues and regulatory matters; - Provide internal legal advice across the Company’s different units and departments, and capability to work together with technical departments and with colleagues from the legal department working on different aspects of the Mozambican projects; - Ensure the development and monitoring of service level agreements on service delivery by third parties; - Assist in the resolution of contractual claims and disputes; - Advise on general legal compliance; - Draw-up the Company’s procedures and internal instructions relevant to legal matters; - Assist the Legal Manager in keeping records at the Company’s secretariat.
Qualifications.
- Degree in Law – Mandatory - Master degree in law (LL.
.) in an UK or an US university is an advantage; - Minimum of five years’ experience in similar roles, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Previous experience with procurement contracts is required; - Past experience in foreign companies (or joint ventures with foreign partners) is preferable.
Training.
- All Legal & Regulatory trainings relevant for the job - HSE training HSE Requirements - Comply with requirements of Safety, Health and Environmental laws of the Country.
- Obey the Company Policy on Safety, Health and Environment and aim at achieving the Company's HSE strategic objectives.
- Practice Company's HSE Management System.
- Provide safe and healthy conditions of work to subordinate personnel and control over compliance by these personnel with safe and labor protection rules and regulations.
- Ensure that staff is adequately trained on the job and in terms of HSE aspects in order to meet HSE targets.
- English Proficiency is an advantage.
- Portuguese Proficiency is mandatory, English proficiency is mandatory; - The ability to work as part of a team is essential; - Strong oral and written communication skills are required; - Attention to detail and accuracy are expected
