This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) 2-3 times per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
• Provides technical support activities for a software production processing environment.
• Installs, maintains and supports application/source code and/or its components and subsystems including third party software.
• Detects, diagnoses and reports related problems.
• Analyzes and resolves incidents, problems or known errors related to failures in application and supporting software components.
• Provides technical assistance to programming staff in the analysis of application software amends, performance and resource consumption.
• Creates and maintains complete documentation relative to the support of application software.
• Provides twenty-four hour support for applications and supporting software.
• Provides consultation to internal users with regard to software capabilities and use.
• Follows escalation procedures, when appropriate, to resolve incidents, problems or known errors in a timely manner.
• Uses appropriate diagnostic tools to isolate and resolve incidents, problems or known errors.
Additionally, you'll be also stretched to.
• Help to implement SRE Principles & Practices and Application Support with Engineering mindset in Application Production Support team • Going to work on breadth of technologies, should be ready to learn / exhibit breadth of technologies to understand the systems and implement SRE practices • Understand complete eco system and Mandatory participation in Triages/Root cause analysis of issues and plan for fixing them • Work as per SLAs.
Identification and reduction of waste, Automation and AI/ML • Cover application stability, uptime and performance with Monitoring and Observability using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace.
• Participate in Technical discussions with Architects / Dev / DBA / SysAdmin etc teams to ensure adoption of SRE Principles in building Secure and Reliable systems Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• 10 + years experience in Application Support,Middleware Support,Devops Engg,Clouds,CI/CD • Applications servers WebSphere (Added advantage - JBOSS, Tomcat).
• Web servers (Apache, IBM HTTP Server, etc..) • Linux / Unix commands.
• Network applications and TCP/IP protocols.
• Scripting – Shell, Python (Added Advantage – PowerShell).
• Automation - CI/CD concepts – Jenkins • Windows Servers • CI/CD tools – OpenShift.
• Team Management and Leadership skills Added bonus if you have.
• Knowledge of Payments (especially global money movement) • Knowledge of Risk & Compliance in Financial services • Knowledge of private cloud #LI-BN Skills.
