Responsibilities Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Accountant to join our team, based in either or Lisbon or Porto offices in Portugal.
Fluency in English and Portuguese is preferred.
We envisage success in this role to include; Reviewing and/or processing billing/invoicing and enters data into the accounting databases.
Submitting cash applications to the vouchers/invoices.
Researching and resolving accounts receivable issues.
Analyzing records of financial transactions to determine accuracy and completeness of entries.
Closing month-end accounting books.
Reconciling balance sheet and profit and loss statement.
Preparing income statements, balance sheets and various other accounting statements or financial reports, including reconciliations & variance analysis.
Analyzing accounting variances and prepares variance explanation reports.
Preparing and/or reviewing projections of accounting data to show effects of proposed changes on income and financial condition.
Maintaining, recording, and reconciling billings and accounts receivables.
Examining financial statements and documents for conformance with accounting requirements and principles.
Creating month-end accounting entries and reconciles discrepancies; posting to GL and reviews variances to budget.
May be required to read and interpret contracts, legal documents, and other agreements.
Ability to record complex business transactions in the general ledger.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include a minimum 5+ years of relevant experience partnered with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Accountant/ CPA/ ACCA qualification preferred.
We will require the person to be available to travel overseas for initial training for one to two weeks and then there may be some international travel a couple of times per year for a few days at a time.
