Job Description.
SAP VIM Senior Consultant We are looking for an experienced SAP VIM (Vendor Invoice Management) Consultant (Version 7.
or 20.
) with 5 to 8 years of expertise in the VIM domain.
The selected candidate will play a key role in leading Business Blueprint sessions, conducting functional gap analyses, configuring VIM modules, and designing invoice workflow approvals to meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities.
• Facilitate Business Blueprint design workshops to gather and analyze client requirements, ensuring alignment with business processes.
• Perform functional gap analysis to identify areas where standard SAP VIM functionalities require enhancements or customization.
• Configure VIM modules, such as Invoice Capture Center/Business Capture Center/IES, Barcoding, OpenText Archive Server, and integrate them with SAP AP, AR, GL, and external systems like Ariba.
• Implement complex enhancements within the OpenText VIM system, ensuring the solution is aligned with the client’s business objectives.
• Design and configure invoice workflow approvals according to the client's approval matrix and business rules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of VIM with other SAP modules and third-party applications.
• Provide expertise and support to end users throughout testing, training, and post-go-live stages.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VIM configuration, workflows, and system integration.
• Stay current with SAP VIM and document management best practices and trends.
Overview.
The SAP Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) Consultant will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of SAP VIM solutions, focusing on automating and optimizing the invoice processing lifecycle.
This role requires in-depth expertise in SAP VIM by OpenText, integration with SAP ERP systems, and close collaboration with finance and IT teams to streamline accounts payable (AP) processes.
Key Responsibilities.
Solution Design & Implementation.
Lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and implementation of SAP VIM solutions, including customization and optimization for business needs.
Analyze client requirements and translate them into SAP VIM functionalities to streamline the invoice management process.
Integrate SAP VIM with SAP modules such as FI (Financial Accounting), MM (Materials Management), and other third-party systems.
Process Optimization & Automation.
Improve and automate accounts payable processes, such as invoice receipt, approval workflows, exception handling, and payment.
Configure and enhance VIM workflows to optimize the processing of both PO (purchase order) and non-PO invoices.
Implement best practices for reducing manual intervention, increasing accuracy, and improving the efficiency of AP operations.
Integration & Data Management.
Ensure seamless integration between SAP VIM and other systems, such as SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, and external systems for electronic invoice processing.
Manage data extraction, document storage, and integration with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) systems for automated invoice capture.
Support & Maintenance.
Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for SAP VIM applications.
Assist with upgrades, system enhancements, and performance optimization of the VIM environment.
Stakeholder Collaboration.
Work closely with finance, procurement, and IT teams to understand business requirements and provide technical and functional expertise in SAP VIM.
Conduct training sessions and provide user support to ensure efficient use of SAP VIM functionalities across the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications.
Technical Expertise.
Extensive experience with SAP VIM by OpenText, including configuration, customization, and integration with SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA).
Strong knowledge of SAP FI, MM, and AP processes, and their interaction with VIM.
Proficiency in SAP VIM workflows, OCR technology, and document processing.
Functional Expertise.
Deep understanding of the accounts payable process and invoice management best practices.
Ability to configure and optimize invoice processing workflows, exception handling, and reporting in SAP VIM.
Project Management.
Proven track record in delivering SAP VIM projects, from scoping and requirements gathering to go-live and post-implementation support.
Ability to manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
Communication & Problem-Solving.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both business and technical teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
Preferred Qualifications.
SAP VIM certification or relevant SAP certifications (FI, MM).
Experience with OpenText Archive Center and Document Access solutions.
Experience in integrating SAP VIM with external systems such as Ariba or Concur.
Knowledge of SAP Workflow Management.
