Python Developer for Real-Time Audio Transcription Application We are looking for a talented Python developer to create a lightweight application designed to run on an M1 Ultra Mac Studio with 128 GB RAM.
This project involves developing a terminal-based application that enables real-time transcription of audio input from selected microphones.
Key Responsibilities.
- Application Development.
• Build a Python application that can be executed via Terminal.
• Implement functionality to list and display available microphones.
• Allow users to select a microphone by entering its ID.
- Real-Time Transcription.
• Integrate a fast transcription engine (such as FasterWhisper, InsanelyFastWhisper, or [login to view URL]) for efficient audio transcription.
• Ensure the application sends deduplicated words to an HTML page using socket.

- User Interface.
Develop a responsive HTML page that displays transcribed words in real-time.
Ensure the UI updates within 200ms of spoken input for an optimal user experience.
- Quality Assurance.
• Implement features to minimize transcription errors and ensure accurate word capture.
• Aim to enhance output readability by adding capitalization and punctuation (extra credit).
- Documentation.
• Provide a detailed README file with setup instructions, dependency management, and usage guidance.
Ideal Qualifications.
• Proficient in Python programming, with experience in audio processing and real-time applications.
• Familiarity with transcription technologies and libraries.
• Experience with web technologies, particularly [login to view URL] for real-time communication.
• Ability to optimize application performance, ideally utilizing the MPS backend for Apple Silicon.
