This position is located in our Strongsville, OH office with work performed at client site in Strongsville, OH, however a hybrid working model is acceptable.
CGI is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join our team.
this candidate should seamlessly utilize Hadoop, Hive, Impala and PySpark.
Must be able to analyze SAS scripts and migrate it to PySpark scripts.
The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, passion for technology, and extensive analysis coding.
This candidate will serve as a technical expert for a large-scale digital development project consisting of both on-shore and off-shore developers.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
- PySpark Coding - SAS Data Migration - Data validation Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• 4+ Years of experience in leading the Cloudera Big Data/Hadoop projects • 6+ years of professional experience in software development and/or data engineering; and in working with relational databases including Oracle, Teradata, MySQL.
• 6+ years of experience in working with Hadoop ecosystem, i.

Hadoop, Hive, PySpark, Sqoop, Kafka • Must have experience leading a technical data engineering team and developing solution architecture.
• Must have programming experience in Python, shell scripting • Must be able to understand SAS scripts to migrate it to Hadoop • Must have experience of handling inbound and out bound file transmission process using EFX/SFG, NDM etc.
• Experience with modern workflow/orchestration tools (e.

Apache Airflow, Oozie, etc.) • Experience working with reporting tools like Tableau • Good to have knowledge of AWS cloud services and GenAI capabilities.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Agile experience is required with Version One or Jira tool expertise • Provide hands-on technical solutions to business challenges & translate them into process/ technical solutions • Good knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps principles • Deliver high quality work and adapt to new challenges, as an individual or as part of a team • Excellent communication and thought leadership skills • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse personality types and understand technical issues.
