JUNIOR BUDGET ANALYST

Position Description.
We are looking for a motivated Junior Budget Analyst to support the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL.
This role involves assisting with financial planning, budget execution, compliance, and data management.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of Government financial management practices and a strong desire to grow and develop in the field.

Your future duties and responsibilities.
• Financial Analysis & Budgeting o Systematically integrates business, cost estimating, and financial management processes to ensure the efficient use of public funds.
o Develops budget estimates, monitors expenses, and provides insightful cost-effective reporting to decision-makers.
o Supports the formulation of strategic financial plans and correlates financing requirements into executable budgets.
• Compliance & Auditing o Assesses financial products and procedures for compliance with Government standards, accounting principles, internal controls, and multi-tiered system applications.
o Conducts analyses to ensure financial activities align with Government policies and regulations.
• Financial Data & Systems Management o Works with integrated enterprise resource management systems and tools for financial data monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
o Proficient in Excel and other financial data tools.
• Problem Solving & Decision Support o Identifies, reconciles, and remedies fiscal discrepancies while ensuring sound financial reporting.
o Understands interrelationships between financial management requirements and automated solutions to optimize financial processes.
• Reporting & Communication o Prepares milestone status reports and presentations for management and end-user representatives.
o Collaborates with stakeholders to support financial decision-making and policy development.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• High School Diploma • 2-6+ Years of Relevant Experience OPTIONAL.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required • SAP and Business Objects (BOBJ) or other accounting systems • Government Financial Processes • Knowledge of developing cost estimates / proposals for potential new work Skills.
