CGI is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Information Technology Coordinator.
As a member of CGI’s Atlantic team, you will be joining the Operational Services group which services 850+ CGI members across several office locations in the region.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the team that ensures our professionals are equipped with the tools and technology they need to service our wide range of clients.
In support of the business unit (BU), act as the champion and advocate for the business, providing first-level escalation for partners and management.
• Advocates for standardization of solutions, procedures and procedures - communicates changes to the BU from the CIO and in turn, makes meaningful recommendations back to the CIO for new standards on behalf of the BU • Champions improvements to processes and procedures on behalf of the BU to CIO • Acts as an extension of the corporate CIO into the BU • Works closely with the BU, forecasting upcoming BU IT services needed • Ensures the post implementation support for new technology roll outs is efficient, simple for the end user and in place on day 1 Works closely with the BU to ensure IT spend is optimized while meeting the needs of the business.
• Receives / reviews / approves IT requests from BU partners (non-standard hardware / software, Enterprise requests, RFS prioritization and management, etc.) and ensures they flow smoothly to successful completion • Works with the BU Controller to validate month-end billing, investigating discrepancies and challenging oddities • Works with the CIO, Global Technology Services, Finance and the BU leadership, supporting the annual IT budget build for that BU • Performs trending & analysis on the BU's IT services, highlighting issues and making recommendations to BU Management • Reviews / challenges / tracks business cases for new “BU specific technology roll outs, ensuring the BU realizes stated benefits Ensures quality communications and end user support are in place.
• Regularly keeps BU management apprised of problem situations, new and upcoming services and other ISIT related items • Ensures all summary and detailed management reports are stored and available for BU management as requested • Plays a key communications / coordination role to the BU in the event of system outages (SEV 1's or highly impacting outages) • Helps educate BU on internal IT support model and helps shepherd the process along (i.
.
Standard Operating Procedures for service requests, incidents, escalations, etc.) • Acts as key point of contact during an IT emergency / incident and may be called upon 24/7 to gain access to buildings or assist as per the specific location requirements • Ensures maintenance schedules and planned down times are clearly communicated to the BU • Acts as Training champion to ensure effective plans are in place from an end-user perspective, often providing training to partners Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years practical hands-on experience in the ISIT field with Customer exposure • College / University degree Must Have Technical Skills.
• Proficiency in using MS suite of products • Good general technical knowledge / understanding of most IT areas (network, software, server, workstation, OS, VPN) • SharePoint savvy (both from a user and administrator perspective) Nice to Have Technical Skills.
• Knowledge of MAC environment is beneficial  • Project Management experience • Knowledge of business operations (where to go to get things done) and elsewhere in CGI, especially with GTO and Corporate Other Requirements (e.

travel, shift work, on-call duty, overtime).
