The school has just over 570 students, from 3 to 18 years old.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Officer who will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of human resources functions to ensure the smooth running of HR operations at the Oporto British School.
The role will focus on recruitment, staff development and appraisal, employee relations, and compliance with legal regulations and the school’s policies and procedures.
The HR Officer will also play a key role in supporting the relocation of international staff, ensuring they settle well into their new roles and environment.

- HR Policy Development & Compliance - Recruitment & Onboarding - Staff Relocation Assistance - Performance Management and Employee Development - Employee Relations & Support - HR Administration & Documentation - Absence & Leave Management - Employee Engagement - HR Compliance & Reporting Perfil do Candidato Qualifications, Skills and Requirements - Fluent in English.
- Proven experience in HR generalist roles, ideally in an international educational environment or a multi-cultural setting.
- Knowledge of Portugal’s employment law, and education sector regulations (desirable).
- Experience in recruitment and staff onboarding, particularly for international staff.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
