Position Description.

CGI’s Networks team are looking to grow the team with sector Subject Matter Experts.

As a SME Consultant you will be joining CGI’s Utilities Networks Team which shapes and delivers solutions across the UK energy market – working with a wide range of energy suppliers.
You will lead on a range of cutting-edge commercial projects.
You will specifically lead and work on projects with our energy distribution provider clients to help them deliver their digitisation strategies under the RIIO framework.
You will take ideas from concept and bring them to reality with support from the Energy Networks team and our wider CGI family.

Your future duties and responsibilities.
You will act as a subject matter expert on energy distribution business architecture and technology, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Your role will involve work across the full technology stack and implementation life-cycle, including analysis and documentation of business and functional requirements, business process analysis, strategic solution recommendations and solution architecture, design, testing and cut-over.
You will be involved in defining scope and business priorities for business changes, eliciting requirements, selecting appropriate techniques for the elicitation of detailed requirements and specifying business and system requirements.
You will help drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, efficiency, and reliability of our clients energy distribution systems.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
To be successful in this role you will have held a senior or management position within the UK energy sector.
You will have experience of working in a project environment in addition to any operational roles.
You will have experience of one or more relevant energy sector solutions from software providers covering core business functions such as asset management, geospatial, field service management, gas control or energy industry data- and work-flow.
You will be a team player with strong communication and presentation skills and an ability to engage at all stakeholder levels.
Desirable experience includes.
• Significant experience of working the Energy industry on assignments supporting business and/or IT transformation.
• Experience of current and future industry and regulatory change, such as RIIO3 • Experience of business process mapping/business process re-engineering • Track record of finding innovative solutions to business challenges • The ability to create and maintain clearly written business requirements and functional system design documentation • The ability to multi-task, with experience of working on various projects at any one time Skills.
