As an Architect within CGI, you will develop a deep understanding of our clients’ needs and align CGI’s Managed IT Services and IT transformation offerings to meet these needs in a cost-effective way.
You will combine the best of CGI from the UK, nearshore and offshore to achieve the appropriate balance of proximity and cost.

Your future duties and responsibilities.
As a member of our central large deals team you will define, validate and promote the appropriate strategies and solutions to deliver tangible business benefits, aligned to the organisation’s ambitions.
You will work on a mix of pursuits, bids and engagement delivery.
You will differentiate yourself by forming trusted relationships with senior client business leaders (CxO) to translate technology solutions into business outcomes that drive revenue and/or reduce cost and operational risk.
You should be able to align business and IT through governance, communications and engagement, operating across the breath of the client organisation to deliver innovation, agility and strategic advantage, enabling key business outcomes.
Duties and responsibilities.
• Member of the central Enterprise Architecture team helping to win the largest deals in our pipeline.
• Client Engagement.
Build good relationships with senior client personnel, develop a deep understanding of their requirements today and in future, and align CGI offering to fit.
• Team Collaboration and Mentoring.
Build good relationships with Architect colleagues, service line owners across CGI and third party partners.
Work closely with them to develop solutions aligned to client needs.
Mentor junior team members.
Learn, apply and contribute to the development of CGI’s Digital Architecture advisory service line and contribute to the development of our wider Managed IT Services offerings to market.
• Solution Design and Architecture.
Document the end-to-end service offering and its benefits in pre-sales presentations and written proposals.
Services in scope could include any or all of service desk, end user compute, applications management, third party contract management, infrastructure management on premise and in the Cloud and network management.
Ensure compliance, scalability, efficiency and security.
• Opportunity Qualification and Bid Support.
Help opportunity pursuit leads qualify new opportunities.
Help develop capture plans for opportunities and put them into practice..
In bid phase, write elements of CGI’s proposal and review others’ material.
Lead and validate costing models for service transition and delivery.
Assist with contract negotiations, striking the right balance between protecting CGI and delivering a contract that deliveries for our customers • Delivery and Continuous Improvement.
Work on transition, delivery and transformation client engagements to help ensure successful delivery and strengthen ongoing client relationships.
Put your proposals into practice.
Identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation to live engagements.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
We're looking for a range of the following skills and experiences.
• Excellent soft skills are essential for this role.
You will have the ability to influence clients in a positive manner and have the communication skills to be able to push back when required.
• Proven experience in shaping client scope by managing and resolving issues with complex, sometime ambiguous and conflicting requirements sets.
Must also have the ability to connect proposed solutions to clients’ higher level desired outcomes.
• Strong experience of designing end-to-end IT outsource service offerings for private and public sector organisations, combining in-house and third party services and a blend of onshore, nearshore and offshore delivery.
Ideally gained from similar work at a large IT services provider.
• Previous experience of proposal storyboarding, writing answers, reviewing answers, cost estimation and review of overall deal shape.
Ideally on deals with a total value of £50m+ • Experience of working as an architect on large IT services engagements, working with a combination of local and remote teams.
• Track record of designing and implementing ITIL-aligned solutions.
Ideally would have knowledge of architectural standards such as TOGAF.
Useful but not essential.
• Experience of building out digital strategy and transformation roadmaps aligned to wider client outcomes as a standalone consulting engagement.
• Proven experience of service improvement to reduce incident volumes, drive down mean-time-to-resolve, increase delivery velocity and improve customer satisfaction.
This should include AI-based components.
• Previous experience of multiple market sectors with in-depth knowledge of some.
