DATA ENGINEER - LOOKER ANALYTICS

MAIN PURPOSE We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analytics Engineer to join our growing data engineering team.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in designing, developing, and maintaining Looker dashboards and explores.
This role requires a deep understanding of Looker's capabilities and a strong ability to translate complex business requirements into effective data visualizations.
Experience with BigQuery and dbt is a plus.
Responsibilities.
* Design, develop, and maintain Looker dashboards, explores, and data models to meet the evolving needs of the business.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
* Develop and maintain Looker data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance.
* Write efficient and well-documented LookML code.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Looker dashboards and explores.
* Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our Looker platform and processes.
* Work closely with other members of the data engineering team to ensure data quality and consistency.
* Proactively identify and address potential performance bottlenecks in Looker.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest Looker features and best practices.
* Manage code using Git version control, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
Qualifications.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with Looker, including designing and developing dashboards and explores.
* Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into effective data visualizations.
* Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices.
* Experience with BigQuery and dbt is a plus.
* Experience with Git version control systems (e.
., GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Looker Expertise Requirements.
* Extensive experience in LookML development, including creating custom visualizations and calculations.
* Deep understanding of Looker's data modeling capabilities, including joins, aggregations, and calculated fields.
* Experience with Looker's security and access control features.
* Proficiency in using Looker's explore functionality to perform ad-hoc data analysis.
* Experience with Looker's scheduling and alerting features.
* Experience optimizing Looker dashboards and explores for performance.
* Experience with Looker's API and integrations with other tools
