Data Engineer Key Responsibilities.
• Develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store structured and unstructured data.
• Build ETL workflows using Python and PySpark for big data processing.
• Work with Hive to optimize data queries and storage solutions in a distributed environment.
• Design and implement data models and ensure data integrity and accuracy across all systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Scientists, Analysts, and Platform Engineers, to understand business requirements and deliver data solutions.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines to ensure seamless operation.
• Optimize query performance and data processing workflows in large-scale environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and bottlenecks efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with best practices around security, governance, and data management.
Required Skills & Experience.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role with strong programming skills in Python.
• Hands-on experience in PySpark for data transformation and processing.
• Expertise in Hive for query optimization and data warehousing solutions.
• Proficiency with distributed big data processing frameworks such as Hadoop or Spark.
• Strong SQL skills and experience in working with large datasets.
• Experience with version control systems (e.
., Git).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
