CONFIGURATION MANAGER

Position Description.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Configuration and Release Manager to join our team.
As a Configuration and Release Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the configuration and change control of our software and hardware systems.
You will work closely with development teams, system administrators, and quality assurance teams to ensure the successful deployment and operation of our products, technical artifact control, and overall release and deployment management.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in configuration management processes and tools, excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities.
- Develop and implement configuration management processes and procedures to ensure the successful deployment and operation of software and hardware systems.
- Manage and maintain the configuration of software and hardware systems throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with development teams to define and enforce configuration management standards and best practices.
- Develop and implement configuration change management to control changes to configuration items, including the process for submitting, reviewing, approving, and implementing changes.
- Identify and document configuration items and their associated documentation, ensuring that each item is uniquely identifiable.
Track and record the status of configuration items and changes, maintaining a history of all changes made.
- Ensure configuration items conform to their requirements and configuration management processes are followed correctly.
- Maintain and update configuration management tools and systems.
- Monitor and track changes to software and hardware configurations, ensuring proper documentation and version control.
- Coordinate with system administrators to ensure proper deployment and configuration of software and hardware systems.
Work with the system admins to set up requirement IAM roles and policies to be enforce CM practices and guidelines.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure proper testing and validation of software and hardware configurations.
- Troubleshoot configuration issues and provide timely resolution.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of configuration management processes to identify areas for improvement.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
- Proven experience as a Configuration Manager, Release Manager or similar role within Google Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of configuration management processes and tools, such as Git, Subversion, Jenkins and the Google platform tools Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, Secrcure Source Manager, Cloud Codes.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and practices, such as Agile and DevOps.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with complex systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required.
- Understanding on Google Cloud based configuration and release management.
- Certification in Configuration Management (e.
