Position Description.
CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Security Tool Engineer.
This opportunity will support a dynamic, fast-paced and energetic project focused on improving federal cybersecurity at civilian agencies.
The Cloud Security tool engineer will play a key role in enhancing the cyber security posture of numerous government agencies by implementing, administering, and maintaining Cloud Native Application Protection and/or Cloud Security Posture Management tools in a cloud hosted shared service platform to protect agency networks and data.
This role involves working closely with Agency teams to ensure robust security measures are in place and effectively managed.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud security tools in a secure cloud environment • Support integration of cloud security tool data with other applications as needed • Work with service delivery teams to configure Cloud Native Application Protection and Cloud Security Posture Management tools for tenant agencies.
• Provide engineering support and troubleshooting as it relates to Cloud Native Application Protection and Cloud Security Posture Management tools integration.
• Follow and perform ITIL Incident, problem and requirements management • Work with the Solution Architect to design and implement solutions that address customer constituency’s needs.
• Implement monitoring solutions to detect and respond to potential security threats.
Optimize system performance through regular reviews.
• Work with cross-functional teams including network engineers, security analysts, and developers to integrate security solutions into the overall IT infrastructure.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and best practices Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• Due to the nature of the contract requirements, US citizenship and successful passing of CGI background check is required prior to beginning work.
In addition, candidates must have ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD/Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years’ work Experience as an AWS Engineer • Strong knowledge of ITIL and Security Administration experience.
Authentication, Certificate system, etc.
• Ideal candidate can mentor, teach and grow to support growing customer requirements • Must have great communication and documentation skills Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required.
• Technical/development background • Experience with CISA’s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program • Security relevant certification, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+, CEH.
• Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of IT Security concepts to include vulnerability & patch management, security operations, Incident Management and Incident response.
• The candidate must be able to work with other team members and groups, work with competing priorities, and possess strong customer focus.
• Understanding of federal cybersecurity guidance such as NIST SP - Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework to Federal Information Systems.
