What are you going to do? • Design and Develop Backend Services.
Architect, design, and build scalable, secure, and robust backend services and APIs using TypeScript • Database Management.
Create, implement, and manage database schemas, queries, and transactions to support core application functionality.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams.
Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Optimize Performance.
Enhance application performance by optimizing server-side logic and database queries for high responsiveness.
• Code Review and Mentorship.
Perform code reviews to ensure high-quality standards and mentor junior developers.
• Testing and Debugging.
Write and run unit and integration tests, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs or performance issues.
• Stay Current with Industry Trends.
Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in backend development and TypeScript to leverage best practices and tools.
What are we looking for? • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Proven expertise with TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Node.
s or NestJS.
• In-depth understanding of server-side programming and architecture.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Proficiency in building RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (plus).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with a preference for AWS (plus).
• Understanding of microservices architecture and design principles (plus).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools (plus).
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks like Mocha, Chai, or Jest (plus).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and independent critical thinking.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese (C1 or above) and English (B2 or above); • Availability for a hybrid work model – 2 days a week working on-site at the office in Braga.
