The Azure Senior Cloud Engineer will coach and mentor a team of cloud engineers, setting daily operational objectives while ensuring the successful deployment and management of Azure cloud infrastructure.
This role will require hands-on expertise in Azure, and an emphasis on achieving operational excellence through automation and best practices.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud solutions that align with business goals.
Key responsibilities and authority Cloud Architecture.
Oversee the design and deployment of scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on Azure, guiding the team in day-to-day implementation tasks.
Automation & IaC.
Ensure the team follows Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using Terraform, automating processes to enhance operational efficiency.
CI/CD Pipeline.
Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth development and deployment processes, with a focus on GitHub Actions.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting.
Set operational objectives for the team to build and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
Provide guidance on diagnosing and resolving infrastructure issues.
Collaboration.
Act as the main point of contact between your team and other departments, ensuring alignment and smooth collaboration for cloud service integration.
Documentation & Reporting.
Ensure that all processes, configurations, and designs are documented, and provide regular status updates to leadership on the team’s progress.
Provide technical support during disaster recovery and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when required.
Key requirements.
Azure Expertise.
At least 4 years of hands-on experience architecting and managing Azure cloud Services and environments.
Terraform Proficiency.
Proven experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with an emphasis on Terraform Cloud for team collaboration.
CI/CD Expertise.
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitHub Actions.
Operational Management.
Strong ability to set and manage operational objectives, ensuring team alignment with business and project goals.
Problem Solver.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide the team in troubleshooting infrastructure issues.
Networking Skills.
Sound knowledge of networking technologies (IP, DNS, firewalling, load balancing, VPNs).
ommunication Skills.
Strong communication skills, enabling collaboration with team members and other departments.
Education/ Qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field experience Azure certifications (e.
., Solutions Architect, Security Engineer, Network Engineer) are advantageous Languages Speaking.
