EDP Generation, a company within the EDP Group, aims to strengthen its Hydroelectric Asset Optimization and Management Department, which is tasked with planning and managing activities related to the operation, maintenance, and optimization of the hydroelectric power generation system, maximizing value creation while strictly adhering to legal obligations, operational rules, and corporate sustainability principles, ensuring the safety of people and facilities.
To support us in this role, we are looking to hire for the Hydroelectric Maintenance Planning and Management Area - Automation and Control Systems.
Job Description.
Develop of control systems (SCADA, industrial automation systems, etc.) technical specifications for hydro assets in accordance with EDP Generation's requirements and standards; Develop of procurement documents, including RFPs and RFIs, for EDP Generation's hydro projects; Manage and supervise projects to ensure that control systems are designed, planned and implemented to meet the overall technical requirements; Participate in testing and commissioning of control systems; Coordinate and plan external and internal stakeholders (other departments, companies, contractors, etc.); Provide up-to-date, data-based, project progress report to management; Provide technical support to troubleshoot issues and identify solutions in control systems; Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in control system design and implementation.
What we are looking for.
Bachelor's or Integrated Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering; More than 5 years’ experience with a background in coordinating industrial control systems projects, support, maintenance and systems management in the energy area.
Working experience in electrical or/and control systems.
Renewable Energy experience such as hydropower plants will be valued; Experience in maintenance and commissioning of automation control systems of hydropower plants; Experience with industrial protocols such as IEC-, Modbus TCP/RTU, Profibus, Profinet, IEC-, OPC-UA/DA; Experience with networking architecture designs (routing, firewall settings, VLAN, NAT) and troubleshooting using protocol analyzers; Driving license and availability for frequent travel to EDP Generation's Hydroelectric Powerplants within the country (mandatory).
Strong Microsoft Office skills is required; Capacity to adapt to changes in priorities and to handle pressure; Flexibility to support in all relevant actions of the department; Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; Curiosity, agility, proactive attitude and high level of self-initiative; Ability to focus to analyze and solve problems; Solid Project Management skills.
