ASSISTANT MANAGER IN A PROFESSIONAL CYCLING SHOP IN LISBON, CAIS DO SODRE.

Are you passionate about cycling and management and eager to share this passion with others? Join our vibrant team at a professional bike shop located in the heart of Lisbon, Cais do Sodre.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, organised and leader-oriented Assistant Manager to help optimize our teamwork as well as enhance our customer service.
The ideal candidate is a good leader with excellent organizational skills and has a passion for cycling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Ensure an outstanding customer experience.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints and feedback promptly and professionally; - Oversee daily operations of the shop (including opening and closing procedures) and support to the staff on the sales floor when needed; - Oversee bike maintenance and repair schedules to ensure all bikes are safe and in excellent working condition; - Manage social media accounts and creation of engaging content to promote services and special offers; - Assist in development and implementation of strategies for user experience and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a thriving and productive work environment motivating the team to meet service and sales goals.
- Facilitate beneficial and consistent workplace procedures; - Organize regular staff meetings to communicate updates, goals, and expectations; - Improve sales and new businesses goals - Mentor staff on how to improve their retail skills through consistent development of product knowledge and customer service standards; - Promote positive and highly engaged attitude among the workers.
- Assist managers in guiding the organisation’s activities - Aid in internal communication between the Management and the workers.
- Ensure compliance to policies and procedures; - Ensure consistent execution of company’s marketing and visual presentation; - Seek ways to better promote the store, the product line and service within the store; - Identifying opportunities to improve a business’ practices; - Help to handle all administrative duties; - Monitor and manage expenses and budgets to ensure profitability; - Oversee daily records of store sales, damages, deposit log, scheduling, employee performance and new hire paperwork; - Hire and train as needed to ensure adequate personnel is on hand to provide an outstanding customer service.
PERSONALITY, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS - Experience in the cycling industry, cycling events or knowledge of bike mechanics is greatly favored; - Experience in retail or customer service experience is very welcomed; - Proactive, self-motivated and highly organised; - Self-oriented towards excellence; - Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively; - Good judgment and problem-solving skills; - Great customer service and interpersonal skills (friendly and capable of building; trusting relationships; ability to attune to the needs and talents of workers in order to help guiding their performance); - Excellent written and oral communication skills; - Good math and analytical skills; - Proficient in word processing applications, spreadsheets, presentation software and social media management tools; - Strong sales abilities, experience with e-commerce platforms and cross-selling are very welcome; - Fluent English; additional languages are a plus; - A high school diploma or equivalent; further education is a bonus; - Passion for cycling and knowledge of bike products is highly beneficial; - Must be available to work weekends and public holidays.
